The Evaluation of Factors Influencing Performance in Tennis Single Match of Men¡¯s High School Student

Abstract
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to analyze major factors in serve and stroke of high school tennis players for successful performance.

Method: To achieve the purpose of the study, 3 dimension video analysis was conducted for one set of men¡¯s single game. The results and conclusions are as follows.

Result: First, there is no difference between the players in terms of speed of serve and stroke. Second, winner¡¯s stroke angle was 2¡Æ greater than loser¡¯s. Winner also used forehand stroke more but loser used backhand stroke more in terms of frequency of stroke. Third, the winner showed more constant pattern in ball speed and angle than loser¡¯s. Forth, loser¡¯s movement after stroke was 12cm longer than winner¡¯s. However, there was no significant difference between the winner¡¯s and the loser¡¯s.

Conclusion: Although winner¡¯s stroke speed was little faster than loser¡¯s, speed of fore and backhand strokes were similar between two players because they both used drive for forehand and flat for backhand. Frequency of forehand stroke and angel would the major factors that influence the game result. Based from winner¡¯s faster preparation for the stroke. Also, is considered an opponent to move a lot more to the game that can be efficiently.
